Dental Technology at Our Cornwall Office
Modern tools that support clearer diagnosis, planning and patient education.

Dental technology does not replace professional judgement. It provides additional information that can support diagnosis, treatment planning and patient education — often with greater comfort and clarity for patients from Cornwall and surrounding Eastern Ontario communities.
DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection
DIAGNOdent uses laser fluorescence to help identify areas of tooth decay that may be difficult to detect through visual examination alone. Finding concerns earlier can support more conservative treatment when care is needed.
VELscope oral tissue screening
VELscope uses specialized light to help the dental team examine oral tissues and identify areas that may require further assessment. Screening is quick and non-invasive and may be completed as part of a routine visit. VELscope does not diagnose cancer — it may help identify areas that need a closer look. Learn more on our oral cancer screening page.
Soft-tissue diode lasers
Our office is equipped with soft-tissue diode lasers that may be used for selected gum treatments and soft-tissue procedures. They can support precise treatment and may reduce the need for conventional surgical techniques in certain cases.
Ask us how laser-assisted care may fit into gum disease treatment when appropriate.
DEXIS CariVu
CariVu uses near-infrared light to help identify cracks and areas of decay between teeth. It may provide useful additional information alongside a clinical examination and dental X-rays.
Digital dental X-rays
Digital X-rays help the dental team examine areas that cannot be seen during a visual assessment, including bone, tooth roots and spaces between teeth. Images are reviewed with you so findings are easier to understand.
Intraoral cameras
Small intraoral cameras allow patients to view detailed images of their teeth and gums. Seeing what we see can make it easier to understand findings and treatment recommendations.
Isolite comfort isolation
Isolite combines isolation, retraction, illumination and continuous suction in one hands-free unit. Better visibility and moisture control can support more efficient treatment — and a more comfortable experience in the chair.
Why technology matters
Better information supports clearer conversations. Whether you are planning restorative care, monitoring gum health or exploring digital dentistry services, our goal is to combine modern tools with careful clinical judgement and plain-language explanations.
